Private Comment Update

As many of you have made a valid point that the new private comment feature can be a pain in the butt, and have requested that it be bannable, I have investigated the situation…

The true situation is that I could implement the ability to ban it, but it will take more time than I have right now, mostly because it will require database changes which invariably breaks buttloads of things…

So, as a compromise, and hopefully pleasing to all, is that the script which sends the mail out, now recognises that the comment was private and will direct to the url which should request your username and password, unless you’ve already logged in, in which case you’ll of course get the diary you last looked at – such is the joy of http authentication… Which before you ask, is disappearing for the new release of DD, due out some time this millenium.
