Latest Worm/Virus doing the rounds

I had one this morning…. It looks like its from Microsoft, it has copyright Microsoft all over it. It arrived in my email with an attachment.

It is NOT from Microsoft. Microsoft do not send patches by email and are highly unlikely to ever do so. Please do NOT open or run the attachment.

If you want patches for Microsoft products (and we highly recommend you DO patch regularly to keep yourselves up to date) its extremely quick, and extremely easy to do. Please visit windowsupdate.microsoft.com it is free, it is very easy and it will help prevent your PC catching any nasty illneses from these worms that arrive in your Inbox! Not to mention it keeps everything else up to date like Media Player, DirectX etc etc.

Go update, and DONT open any attachments that claim to have come from Microsoft. They didn’t send it.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I got that e-mail from "Microsoft" a couple of weeks agoo saying to download the attachment. Because I had a feeling inside me that told me no way, I did not download the attachment. I think it is really silly of someone to have so much time on their hands to create such malicious worms or viruses to infect other computers. I got the Blaster worm on my computer about four weeks ago and it took a little bit of time to get it off but I got it off with help from my stepfather. After that I made sure that everything was downloaded/updated for more protection and have been keeping things up to date on a daily/regular basis since. I never had the problem of infection before until weeks ago.

  2. I make it a point to *never* open any attachments that dont contain any pr0n. . .

. . .bleh, as per usual, update your windows, dl an av program and a fw, too.

    happy computing
