Spurious Internal Server Errors

I’ve been advised that the server is chucking out a LOT of Internal Server Errors. Not for every request, but for enough for it to be considerably annoying. At the moment I have very limited information to go because there’s nothing in the log file to indicate why this is happening (although it does indicate it IS happening).

Please bear with me while I investigate what’s going on with this, there’s a HUGE number of different things that could cause it and I will have to go through and see if I can figure out what might be doing it. I’m not aware of any significant changes to the system that could cause this, and the only really major recent change was the IP address, which shouldn’t give this problem.

I’m on the case and I’ll let you all know when I have some answers

It actually appears I was unfair to MySQL, after scouring the net I have discovered that its probably a glibc problem. Unscheduled Outage

A database query managed to pull the whole site over, resulting in the need to close down and restart the database. Unfortunately when it came back up it decided to overwrite its replication logs from the beginning and as such would have destroyed the backup database replication. If you are, we cannot send e-mails to you. SBCGlobal repeatedly add our mail server to their antispam blacklist and as such we cannot get mail through because their server rejects it. I have written to them on a number of occasions and have been removed, only to be added back into the blacklist again…
