This is the last entry i’ll post into this diary on this topic, I don’t want to continue to put what is essentially ‘off topic’ entries into this diary but since I started, i’ll round up and finish it off. I want to thank each and every one of you for your kind words, both…
The new release of MySQL has finally been released with the version of InnoDB that supports our type of database structure – notably tables that have rather large data blocks. I am at present testing this new version on my ‘sandbox’ machine at home, which is merrily replicating the main database and providing us (as…
The 10 Recent Updates has had to be removed from the front page temporarily due to it killing the entire database server. The query it was using was locking the database, unfortunately bringing everything down (including other sites running at AtomIC). It has therefore been temporarily removed until I can recode it to be more…
Oh dear. What can I say? Someone has too much time on their hands it would appear. Well, I will find out who you are and I will be billing you for my time to delete your diaries, and for updating the code to make it easier for me in future to delete you. You…
SSL has been a requirement for Google optimization when it comes to searches for probably nearly a year now. Sites that don’t support SSL (secure) connections won’t get the little padlock in the corner and a penalised in search results. Also, it’s not good because your login details are sent in the clear across the…
I appreciate your work. Thank you 🙂
Test comments now…
yes, i am comforted to know you’re working at it. thanks.
🙂
No problem, Steve, a little PHP downtime and sporadic site access is worth it in the short term if it means the site works better in the long term. We appreciate all your hard work!! =)
So all the login issues and stuff is related to that? I’m used to like full on down. Like access to nothing. The partial acces thing is all confusing me.
Oh well. Have fun debugging. 🙂
We will sit on the sidelines, cheering you on admiringly! Hope your work goes quickly and without too many frustrations.
Hugs,
Ani

ahem…just tested…actually, Steve, the internal server error is still present 🙁 it is only appears in old diaries with millions of entries and easily gets rid of by refreshing browser…personally I don’t mind doing it, I’d think many other won’t either. as long as it is a known bug with a known resolve…I wouldn’t worry much 😉

I’m not getting anymore of those, "Skeleton diary doesn’t exist" things anymore. I don’t have the skeleton diary… nor did I really care if it existed. Just wondered why login would be going there. lol
Hope you have fun with your bugs today. 🙂 Someday this will all be automated and all you’ll have to do is sit there and watch it work for you.
