I am presently working on a new ‘friends’ system that will ultimately (and fairly shortly I hope) replace the current Notification System. The idea is pretty simple, you can assert yourself as a friend of a diarist, and at that time you will be able to state whether you wish to receive notifications or not….
Ahahaha, no that’s really the title of this one 🙂 Having discovered last night why the comments weren’t always showing up, I tweaked the database (it was a change I’d made to be clever after the move and to prevent me having to make LOTS of changes to code) back to how it should be…
Album users now have their own URL to access their album. You can specify yourusername.album.atomic-systems.com to reach your own album, obviously you replace yourusername with your actual username, so to view delancie’s album you can use http://delancie.album.atomic-systems.com and go straight there. Very shortly you’ll be able to use http://yourname.atomic-album.com as a bit shorter version 🙂…
A database query managed to pull the whole site over, resulting in the need to close down and restart the database. Unfortunately when it came back up it decided to overwrite its replication logs from the beginning and as such would have destroyed the backup database replication. I’ve taken a snapshot of the database now…
If people could let me know whether their problem is now resolved, I may have some idea of what it was… Trouble is, with the sketchy ‘it isnt working’ details I have, and the fact that its working quite happily for me, its hard to pin down 🙂
I have found out what happened with the new password system and I’m not sure how to say this without seriously losing face, but; It IS a system glitch that caused the problem. In a rather obscure chain of events that took place last night, I can confirm that exactly 1000 users (though that is…
I appreciate your work. Thank you 🙂
Test comments now…
yes, i am comforted to know you’re working at it. thanks.
🙂
No problem, Steve, a little PHP downtime and sporadic site access is worth it in the short term if it means the site works better in the long term. We appreciate all your hard work!! =)
So all the login issues and stuff is related to that? I’m used to like full on down. Like access to nothing. The partial acces thing is all confusing me.
Oh well. Have fun debugging. 🙂
We will sit on the sidelines, cheering you on admiringly! Hope your work goes quickly and without too many frustrations.
Hugs,
Ani
all seems to be working in userland. Many thanks for your hard work! much appreciated.
[PRIVATE COMMENT]
ahem…just tested…actually, Steve, the internal server error is still present 🙁 it is only appears in old diaries with millions of entries and easily gets rid of by refreshing browser…personally I don’t mind doing it, I’d think many other won’t either. as long as it is a known bug with a known resolve…I wouldn’t worry much 😉

I’m not getting anymore of those, "Skeleton diary doesn’t exist" things anymore. I don’t have the skeleton diary… nor did I really care if it existed. Just wondered why login would be going there. lol
Hope you have fun with your bugs today. 🙂 Someday this will all be automated and all you’ll have to do is sit there and watch it work for you.
