And so from bad to worse…

The new shiny server turned out to be a pile of poo and I had to revert everything back to the old server.

The hardware was not set up correctly and the server technicians answer was ‘we will need to reload your server’… My response was ‘I don’t think so – I have 100 customers on there and had no idea the hardware was duff until I tried to use it’. At which point they ignored me for 3 days straight and so I have ordered a new server from a whole new company…

But another move won’t happen just yet – I need a vacation first! Though I might just get it over and done with so that I can THEN have a vacation 🙂

But the next move will be significantly easier because I have checked that the hardware is running properly… And it’s twice the spec of machine for the same price – plus has a whole RAFT of other goodies to make my administrative life a LOT easier.

  2. Well, you HAVE been in the Poo haven’t you poor deardiary webmaster!

    I for one never doubted your ability to get us up and running again, and I also know the precarious nature of computers in general.

    Sorry it’s been such a rough time for you and whenever you DO go on vacation, have a lovely time!
