We won’t ban American Users dont worry. Besides which, 80% of our users are American. Probably 50% of those are under 15 (we actually don’t know of any Americans here who are under 13 – and don’t want to, at least not yet!) The comment of banning American IP addresses was more intended to show…
Its come to my attention that a number of people who have diaries here have been threatened by, perhaps one, perhaps more people, that their ’employers’ will be contacted. I’m not sure on what grounds these employers would be contacted, especially since the various people threatened are among the more sensible users of this system…
I’ve linked the Search button on the front page to go directly and easily to the relevant Google query boxes… Hopefully the result isn’t too bad. I’m not happy about it, but there’s not much I can do. Steve.
Did the spacing fool anyone? No, didn’t think so… Anyway, we took an executive decision last night, that in the face of further waning ad revenue, we have to allow pop up ad banners. The industry appears to be strangling out the normal cost per thousand ad and moving to these blasted popups (as opposed…
Hi All, I’ve changed the way the backgrounds and button image selection works in the customizer. The previous system was a (n unworkable) drop down list of all the backgrounds on the system which worked ok while there were about 10 backgrounds on the system, but fell rather short of ‘good user interface design’ when…
First off, thanks to Eliezer for providing some alternative suggestions. Next, LisaMarie passed us a link to an article she found on Wired, Age Verification – it contains details that even I wasn’t fully aware of. Rather than my rabbitting on, i’ll let you draw your own conclusions, I just thought it would be an…
I appreciate your work. Thank you 🙂
Test comments now…
yes, i am comforted to know you’re working at it. thanks.
🙂
No problem, Steve, a little PHP downtime and sporadic site access is worth it in the short term if it means the site works better in the long term. We appreciate all your hard work!! =)
So all the login issues and stuff is related to that? I’m used to like full on down. Like access to nothing. The partial acces thing is all confusing me.
Oh well. Have fun debugging. 🙂
We will sit on the sidelines, cheering you on admiringly! Hope your work goes quickly and without too many frustrations.
Hugs,
Ani
all seems to be working in userland. Many thanks for your hard work! much appreciated.
[PRIVATE COMMENT]
ahem…just tested…actually, Steve, the internal server error is still present 🙁 it is only appears in old diaries with millions of entries and easily gets rid of by refreshing browser…personally I don’t mind doing it, I’d think many other won’t either. as long as it is a known bug with a known resolve…I wouldn’t worry much 😉

I’m not getting anymore of those, "Skeleton diary doesn’t exist" things anymore. I don’t have the skeleton diary… nor did I really care if it existed. Just wondered why login would be going there. lol
Hope you have fun with your bugs today. 🙂 Someday this will all be automated and all you’ll have to do is sit there and watch it work for you.
