Virtual Friend, Real Happiness
Thu Sep 09 2004

I had great news today. My online friend has got married. I'm so pleased for him! He is a long term friend - I know him for 5 years. We have never met though...We found each other on one of online forums for techi. By accident, I think. Eventually, we've bushed out of professional forum. We used to be like cat&dog - fighting, sulking to each other, and always - getting back to being best friends again. We haven't got a single fight over the past 3 years, as far I can remember.

We've listened to each other in our good and our bad times. Neither of us expects nothing; occasional "hi, how's life?" makes it just enough to feel happy and even a little proud of our friendship, so unobtrusive. Sometimes we do not talk at all, just notice the other is there, wave and get on with our own things. Sometimes we cannot get enough of talking over events that filled our lives. Could be only once in a few months, or could be - almost every day. It is a delight to be invited into someone's life so close yet so far away too.

I've witnessed his growth; I can see he has grown. From a silly cocky boy into a strong self-confident young man. I’ve heard about all his falls and rise, about fears, about plans for future and about his love for his girl. He is more of a brother to me then a friend, I think. He’s got married now. And waving at parting today, I wished them both the silver stars of fortune…

And once again I thought to myself, that it doesn’t really matter if it is a long distance friendship, I can still be happy for them very real…

On another note, some funny thing, I've just discovered
You might not believe me that I haven't done it intentionaly, but I swear - I haven't! Just happenned to stumble across this when browsing for something else. I didn't meant it for my friend! LOL :

I could not agree more. I actually think it is easier to deal with people online. They don't judge you by your looks, heck it is even easier to open up, I think. They are real people with a little bit of imagination thrown in for fun. I so much enjoy chatting with the soldiers and I have made several friends and some I feel like are family online. I know exactly what you mean.

Party's over???? I could still smell your hang-over through that joke. Lol. That was fun Miss Tick. That was a good reprieve from that 'former' diarist I used to know. She's a very serious and introspective thinker. Sometimes my shallowness cannot fathom her and have to re-read again. ***wink.

Or maybe cuz you were just taking a break? Hehe. Nah. You are in the line of Teaeyegger. Great minds. Thanks for that cyber party. I enjoyed it too.

RYC: Videoke is just like karaoke. In videoke, you get to sing-along thru the medium of a screen while the lyrics are shown over a moving picture. In karaoke, it's usually the lyrics over still pictures. Videoke is in here, karaoke is out.:)

And that movie I mentioned was a sizzling one but got a story to it. Joseph Fiennes has great body. **grins
