Here goes my day…thought by thought…

Morning thought:
Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically act upon... must inevitably come to pass!
[Paul J. Meyer]

The Law of The Balance: if something comes, something else must be gone.

Mid Afternoon thought:
This is not intended to attack faithful people

The phenomena of voting for bush as “Christian duty” bothers me a lot.
Generally people go to church to be told what to do… Would it be – on personal level (moral, faith, etc) in one or another way they are being constantly advised on how to behave and how to react on various things happened around the community...and that is perfectly fine, as I do believe the church does a good job in planting morality seeds. However, when ppl go to church on a constant basis, they intend to accept, what being told there, by heart, rather then by mind…blind faith…?

Now imagine, that in your local church you are being constantly told to vote for bush…in the context of other advises you’ve been given by church, you would be more likely to accept this without further thinking, as any other, more “general” advises…

Thinking about separation of state and church issue…or, rather – democracy and religion…from history – state should not have any rights over church business. (Jefferson's "separation of church and state")… there is nothing, however, stating that state should not use church as an ally or, rather, public tribune in its own interests. Now I wonder how this would work in a democratic state? From one side intelligent people would be watching, analysing and making decisions, based on biblical values (shall not kill, shall not steal, shall not witness against your neighbour, etc…) from the other hand – they would go to church to be told to support those who actively violates these. Although religious people tend to be of high morality, their blind faith actually prevents them from applying these principles to others (all are equal, but some are more equal then the others and can do what they pleased)

In the most general view: in a country, where state and church are officially separated, can the votes of those who go with the Christian duty, rather then with their civil duty, be counted as valid, anyway?..

Late Afternoon thought:
I've seen this on the BBC site. Was too good not to quote:
Let's see - the American economy is in the dumps, world opinion of the United States has hit an all time low, and the war in Iraq has no end in sight and is thus far, disastrous (both financially and morally.) It makes perfect sense why Bush was re-elected...

just a reminder to whoever relevant:
"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he doesn't become a monster" [Friedrich Nietzsche]

It is saddens me that many americans seems don't understand why then whole world have been trying to send them a message. One would think, that choosing of a president of a country should've been a business of this country only...
Well, the thing is, even if it might surprise someone, the guy who rules White House has managed to leave a grimy footprints in so many non-american places, that it is no longer internal issue...

"There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarrely inexeplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened." [Douglas Adams]

    mmmmm..indeed.

but there is also a law of accumulation:

"... that everything great and worthwhile in human life is an accumulation of hundreds and sometimes thousands of tiny efforts and sacrifices that nobody ever sees or appreciates. It says that everything accumulates over time. That you have to put in many, many, many tiny efforts that nobody sees or appreciates before you achieve anything worthwhile. It's like a snowball. A snowball starts very small, but it grows as it adds millions and millions of tiny snowflakes and continues to grow as it gathers momentum."

"Everything worthwhile happens one step at a time"

It seems perfectly obvious to me that Bush doesn't give a rat's a** what the world thinks. I feel like dressing in mourning for the next four years.

In this case, too, I believe that Cheney is the real power. And that scares me to death!!

Is this the way empires die?
