Eagle’s Gift [Recap On Castaneda]
Mon May 23 2005

"A warrior chooses a path with heart, any path with heart, and follows it; and then he rejoices and laughs. He knows because he sees that his life will be over altogether too soon. He sees that nothing is more important than anything else."

A Touchy Tale Of The Mouse Who Learnt To See
Read it in my last entry’s comments. I wonder, how many other names that mouse used to have before getting a new one?... ;-) It was time for me to refresh my superficial awareness of the Separate Reality…
When we learn to "see" nothing is known; nothing remains as we used to know it when you didn't see.

Good old Carlos Castaneda…
Oh, yes…Eagles gift and Dreamer’s mask…
The Eagle is the force in the universe from which everything emanates. Awareness is given to us from the Eagle, and when we die we and our awareness returns to the source and "consumed."

Castaneda on Remembering
According to the teachings of Don Juan, the body is a field of energy constantly affected by other fields of energy. All of our experiences have been stored inside our energy fields. Recapitulation is a process of remembering or reviving events and experiences. It happens naturally at the moment of death - described it as your life passing before your eyes. To do it of or own volition, restores and strengthens your energy field.

Castaneda on Want
What makes us unhappy is to want, yet if we would cut our wants to nothing, the smallest thing we'd get would be a true gift. To be poor or wanting is only a thought, and so is to hate, or to be hungry, or to be in pain. Only a warrior can survive. A warrior knows that he is waiting and what he is waiting for, and while he waits he wants nothing and thus whatever little thing he gets is more than he can take.

Castaneda on Self-Importance
You think about yourself too much and that gives you a strange fatigue that makes you shut off the world around you and cling to your arguments

Castaneda on Decisiveness
Once you decide something put all your petty fears away. Your decision should vanquish them. Worry and think before you make any decision, but once you make it, be on your way free from worries or thoughts; there will be a million other decisions still awaiting you.

I am already given to the power that rules my fate. I cling to nothing, so I have nothing to defend. I have no thoughts so I will see. I fear nothing, so I will remember myself. Detached and at ease, I will dart past the eagle to be free. [From The Eagle's Gift]

Nice entry. My mother has always been a big Castenada fan. "The Immaculate Warrior" I believe was her favorite.

Wow.. I was surprised you hooked that story up with Castaneda.. I have read all his books. But hadn't thought about him while I wrote that!
    How funny..
I know he died of around my birthday and of the disease I myself have..
He died a broken man. This was second by most his followers. He became a tyrant of sorts.. saying we all need a petty tyrant..
    I guess that is true..
I know I have made my own tyrants.. and continue to
    Hugs
