We walked in Oxford this afternoon, without particular purpose…and the day was wonderful…and we sat in a park…and in my thoughts I talked to the trees asking them: when at last? Enjoy – they said…Last of the Summer…summer won’t last forever…enjoy – they said - days of a still warm sun and already slightly chilly earth…don’t expect Autumn to appear on a doorstep breathless of a long run…she will approach gradually…slowly…changing colours so that you won’t even notice for some time…unlearn - they said - to anticipate what will come regardless wish you or not, unlearn to read between the lines and search for the signs of an Autumn...be patient...these last summer days do breath something into the air…peace, perhaps…
It was nice not to make plans where to go and what to see…it was a pleasure to be able to walk into natural museum for an hour, just because we happened to walk by and the decision to go inside happened on a fly…It was nice too to get to the Sheldonian Theatre – a famous Ceremony Hall 10 min before closing time and to be last visitors of a day…empty theatre, full of history and maybe full of the ghosts of all those Big Names that graduated Oxford University over the centuries of its existence…
It was nice overall…because there was no expectations of the day…no awareness of what the day might bring…just pure swimming with the stream of a momentum…going where the feet take us…seeing what the eyes see…and it felt good.
