"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."
I asked the stars what awaits me…and got this in reply:
When people part with money for an item or a service, they appreciate it. If something is free, though, it tends to be taken for granted. There, in a nutshell, is the problem with life! We get it gratis. Each day, each hour, each minute, each breath is a gift. We just automatically assume that, even if we totally waste the one we have just received, another will be waiting for us. Thus, we allow ourselves to be unhappy, or to put up with stuff we should never accept. It's time to value yourself more…
I wanted to share this with anyone who needs it. It might sounds like cliché, but think of it and you will see through the trite facade into the eternal wisdom of the idea. Allow yourself to be happy.
So…with not so many hours left to go there is nothing much to say, really…most of the things that should’ve been taken care of, have been taken care of…the necessary arrangements arranged for my absence* in the office (*mental note to myself: remind the boss to employ another sysadmin, so that I can be more relaxed in my going on holidays. They really should’ve been doing risk management instead of distracting good people from doing their job with stupid meetings!) I even had to take some work home last few days, coz there is no way to manage all that should be done in human hours. The house and family are taken care of…all the car-bound shopping done, the fridge stuffed full, the home is all in extra order so that when I’m back I can expect at least some semblance of things being in their places…well, sort of…again, with working late and juggling with too many balls of “must do before I go” things it feels as if I don’t really want to go anywhere already. And the secret dream is to pretend I’ve gone and to hide some quiet place instead…and to sleep over the whole vacation…just to be in peace a quiet for a while…
