Political
Over the past six years, Moscow has sent Britain 21 extradition requests but not a single suspect has been extradited. The suspects included fraudsters, killers, terrorists, drug dealers and persons involved in particularly serious embezzlement of funds. Six of the people mentioned in the requests have been granted political asylum in Great Britain
I just had to comment on this, as this is becoming a joke of the year now…so, is it me or is there some kinder garden game going on between UK and Russia? I maybe misunderstand something, but let’s see…so…a KGB agent went to London, switched sides and applied for British citizenship. OK this can happen… he then stayed in London and felt obliged to criticize severely the hand that fed him in his previous life. Fine…freedom of speech…he had the rights…then he gets himself poisoned in a weirdest manner possible and now planted a political scandal that might be a beginning of the Cold War II…and all the fuss is over what exactly? a SPY, (a traitor) has been killed...isn't it what the spies get when they switch sides and can’t keep quiet about it? I can imagine books being written on this…crime novels…with the Bond-ish titles…something like…” A Polonium Kiss”…or “Die Radiactively Hard”…or even “Breakfast With Lugovoy”…
Forgive me for political rant, but nothing makes sense in this funny world anymore…
Educational
I’ve just been on a training course. It was job related. New qualification that we might need for the future projects. Useful for CV as well…one of top ten high demands in today’s IT world. I might even consider passing the exam and getting paper thing – could be impressive, methinks. It was overall good. Even very good…or maybe even THAT MUCH good…It was almost physical sensation - I could hear my brains making noises like squeaking doors, helplessly trying to resist to my attempts to open them and let the light of knowledge in…LOL…
It was about 5 years since I was student last time, doing my IT certifications. I still remember sleepless nights and fast food meals, nerdy classmates, boiled brains…mmmm….those were the times! This week it was too very stimulating, almost to the physical sensation of the brain stretching …sooooooooooo good…I even feel grown younger…well, maybe not, but I want to pretend that I did…;-)
There were only 5 of us in the classroom, since course involved a lot of hands on labs. What I found amusing was that among all of us we had one guy from Barbados, one from New Zeeland, one from Ireland, one from Poland, me from Russia and our instructor was German…now that got me into thinking: what’s wrong with British professionals? Don’t they have any learning abilities or/and willingness to know something knew?! I think it is sad to see how many people here just stop bother, stop care, stop grow. I mean to grow as a person, to develop, to extend perspectives…
What will the next generation become, I wonder?...
Vacational
funny conversation with son:
me: fancy going with me on holidays?
him: depends where to
me: i've found a great package to Marakesh, Morocco - very cheap and exotic too.
him: sends me an url - security advisory for Morocco it says:
There is a high threat from terrorism in Morocco. There were two suicide bombings on 14 April in Casablanca outside an American Language Centre and the US Consulate General. One passer-by was slightly injured. These follow suicide bombings in Casablanca on 10 April and 11 March in which four suicide bombers and one policeman were killed. Security has been increased by the Moroccan authorities who have made a number of arrests but continue to hunt for further suspected terrorists. See the Terrorism section of this travel advice for more details
me: [sighs] okay...then how about Turkey?...
...
him: did you just googled "places with terrorist alerts"?
Anyway, not that I am complaining…well, I AM complaining, of course! Because I want some cheap pity for my indecisiveness...or kick in the butt to help to choose…I’ve booked two weeks in September, but still don’t know where to go…phrrrrrr….somewhat mental block vacation-related…
A stand-alone thought:
Sometimes we hide when we want to be found the most ....

education yes I firmly believe that we can educate ourselves more than a course would do but then in a formal course we are driven to learn things that eventually we will find useful which is the good side
