I saw this in Paul Mackenna’s interview transcript:
‘Yesterday, I was walking down a street in Edinburgh … it’s the most beautiful vibrant city with amazing architecture… the sun was shining, there was a fresh breeze in the air, I could see the castle in the distance, somebody was playing the bagpipes… it was suddenly overwhelmingly beautiful and it just hit me and I turned to my friend and said, “I’m having a rich moment”…
I’m inspired. I can relate. Every so often I do have that overwhelming feeling of pleasure buds being activated by the wave of something good. It might be when I experience some positive emotions, or sometimes simply when I see something beautiful. Nature does that to me more then anything else. And sometimes some people do too. Or art. I like the idea of calling such moments – My Rich Moments. Rich can be not just money overload. It can be positive energy overload. Pleasure overload. Mmmmm…Very Rich…
Our day consists of many moments. And some of them could be – rich moments, some could be other kind. I’m playing with the idea of counting my rich moments every day to see how cheap or how wealthy the day has been. Don’t know. Maybe I should try this out, why not… Yesterday my day had a couple of different moments.
A Wet&Naked Moment.
And by that I mean – taking a bath. Driving home from work I felt this pre-tear wave approaching my shores…again…grrrr…no reason, this happens every now and then in the last year or so, it almost becomes a part of my life now…it is funny how I write about it afterwards, so detached, as if it happened not to me but to some stranger. Never mind, that was not the point. The point was – it was coming, I felt it and I figured the best way to hide your tears is in the water. Plenty of it. So bathtub it was then. Do you realize how easy it is to cry in the bath?! The fact that you can’t count your tears because they mix with the rest of the water somehow makes them less significant…what you can’t see, does not exist, or something like that anyway…so in my wet moment I did a little bit of thinking and a little crying and then – a little laughing when I put on a face mask of the most poisoned green colour and then looked at myself in the mirror…trust me there is no more hilarious sight then a victim of skin care product with a halo of a bath foam around her greenish face…oh and I decided I need a bath-buddy, so will be off for shopping for a cute duck thing soon…Imagine the pleasure of talking to someone who cannot object to you and even if they do, you can end the argument by drowning them mercilessly…
A also had an Educating Moment yesterday.
I booked myself onto the Traders Secrets Seminar in Birmingham for Saturday. I have absolutely no inclinations to play trade market. BUT I always wanted to know what these funny words they use in financial columns mean. So I figured the crush course would serve this purpose just fine. Finally the question “is “footsi” a shoemaking brand” will be answered! (and yes, I know that other meaning of the word I used ;-)) Besides there are more trivial reasons to attend: it is free and it is better time wasting then spending weekend in usual solitude and self-pity. Beware stockmarket: blond girl is coming to learn trade secrets! (as if there is anything left to break there ;-) )
