I’ve been slightly lazy…actually, no, just plain lazy. I’ve been meaning to write about my Traders Secrets day-out and I did have plenty of time to do so, but my mind kept finding other more exiting things to ponder and I let him wander away from the task.
So I’ve been initiated into the secrets of how people do money from nothing. Yeah, did you really think they’d share their secrets for real, eh?...However, armed with belief that no get-rich-quick scheme could be revealed in a two-hours seminar for the complete beginners, it was easy to go there without expectations. In this way my expectations were exceeded. I thought we would be taken by heavy psychologically enforced sale, but actually the first two thirds of the lecture turned out to be on the subject advertised and to me personally it happened to be quite interesting, as I’ve learned things I didn’t know before. Now, mind you, I cannot see right now how I can possibly use this new knowledge, but at least it made the time I spent there felt as not wasted.
It would be a lie to say “I always wanted to know how stock brokers make their money”…I really cannot care less. Yet we’ve been taught some of these fancy methods of spread-trading and in the end I’ve realised that there is more to the stoke market speculation then just a gambler’s luck. Actually, to do these trades whole day looks nothing like an exciting job, I even felt a little sorry for those can be inspired by the graphs, columns and numbers.
It was very easy, for me at least, to spot the end of useful information and the beginning of the sale. And I must admit, they do have my respect for being such a professionals in both. In the end of a day watching masters in work is always a pleasure, even if you did not succumb to their charms. They were just selling the commercial course in trading, in a way it might be a good option to take for those who find themselves struggling on unemployment benefit. Well, better then nothing, I’d say. The course wasn’t even that expensive at all and I personally think it was a good value for money. I just was not interested in it, that’s all. But I had a great time, I’ve learned something new and that made this day marked as worthy.
It was only an hour and a half drive from me and we managed to visit an exhibition near the place. Nothing much to report on this one, as it was an …outdoor tents(?!) exhibition-stroke-sale. But hey, you wouldn’t go and buy a four-bedroom tent just to see what’s inside of it, would you? So I took the opportunity and had some fun exploring the tent-city, chatting with the salesmen and locking myself in the sleeping compartment of a luxury sample of oversized piece of nylon.
Well, that’s how my Saturday went. Like they say: you only have to start looking for fun in every day and you will find yourself laughing sooner then you’d think.
