Did you know that tango is not just a dance of passion… Can you imaging tango to be humorous, lightly mischievous, deliciously flirtatious…I have to admit I never thought of the tango in these terms…the dance for me was always a fire…a passionate emotion…a battlefield of the ying and yang where they verify their equality…but last lesson with the Tango Cat has opened my eyes to the completely new perspective of the Argentinean tango. It called – milonga. The style. And at a first glance it looks like an easy option for those unfortunates with two left feet for the ballroom style. We did it at the end of a class as a “chillin’ alternative”. I loved it. If I’d to choose one word to define this style, I would pick – cute. Cute dance that eases your mind into the care free… Since then I’ve researched youtube for milonga performances and fall in love with this dance even more. Although I do adore the classical Argentinean tango, the milonga “looks better on me”…there are certain dramatic moves and poses, leans and drops in classical version that makes me laugh hysterically when I imagine myself doing them. Milonga, on the other hand, fits like a glove to my complexion and personality and amateurishness…take a look at this gem – so irresistibly playful, makes you giggle in delight
