You Can Now Edit Your Diary Homepage
Thu Aug 01 2024

Title says it all really 😁

You can also change your diary title in the same screen. Look for the gear icon when you're on your diary homepage.

It uses the same editor so you should be familiar with it by now.

Image captions now show with a subtle background rather than just being text underneath the image. And they're centered in the editor to mirror how they'll look in your entry better.

There's probably more stuff that I've updated today but I can't remember now!

Any issues, let me know 😀

Before I'll go play with Homepage, can I just make a suggestion to move the following Enhancements requests in "Issues" up the priority list:

#15 and/or#21 - they are very similar in function, really, so could be one or the other, whichever is easier?

with more diarists returning to DD Land, it is becoming more and more painful to do the rounds checking on the diaries you've left comments to see if any further discussions. To be fair, the system wasn't quite working in the previous incarnation either, as you're never sure if your comment on someone else's diary has led to further conversation. Personally, I would prefer to have @diarist name as an option one can choose if they do want the other to pay attention, in Comments particular. This way we'd avoid the situation when you read comments to your friend's diary and some won't make any sense, as they were left in response to this person's comment somewhere else. I know, I'm clear as mud, but if we'd have some ways of "mentioning", we'd have more inherent conversations about things raised in particular entry

Hey Steve... I have been going back through some of my old entries from some years ago and some of them will load and others not. When I hover over the dates with entries briefly it will say 'loading'. Sometimes they DO and then I can read them, and other times no, they don't, even when I just leave the cursor there for a while. Don't know what this means, except that it's a LOT of material to look through to find. Just passing it along. Not a rush issue. But others may find it's happening to them too... Things are sure looking up around here in general though eh???

Is it always the same entries that cause the problem or does it vary? The backend fetches the titles as you hover so if something has gone wrong with that part it may not show the tooltip. Can you click on the date and get the entry or does that fail too? Can you give me some examples if it's reproducible (i.e. not random) - if not I'll go hunting :)
