Some help with Jabber

A bit more help for Jabber is needed I think!

When you first start it up, you will see the following:

Click the 'Create new Account' link at the bottom if you don't have a Jabber account on the system.

Fill in the details for the new user wizard, using jabber.atomic-systems.com as the server name that you want to connect to. Click Next, fill in the next page of information and then click the Finish button and it should create your account on the system.

Next time you get the login box fill in your details as you signed up and ensure that jabber.atomic-systems.com is in the server box.

If you get this error message then it possibly means that either your system can't connect to our server or that there is a firewall stopping you from getting to port 5222 on our machine - check your ISP or your network admin to see if they can shed any light on it if everything else looks fine.

(I'd show you more screenshots but the firewall where I am at right now specifically doesn't let most things go through so I can't actually get connected using Jabber from here :) ).

    Matt, ever heard of an SSH tunnel then? ;-)

    You'll need to add jabber.atomic-systems.com to your hosts file with address 127.0.0.1 but so long as you tunnel port 5222 to first.atomic-systems.com port 5222 then it should work. I think. I don't think it opens a backchannel so you should be fine.

    I finally got it to work. Don't ask me how. I reinstalled it, resetup my account and finally it went through. I got Yahoo and Aol on but I keep getting an error message for msn messenger.

    it's really cool, I can't wait until more people get it!!!!

    Hi guys.... I couldnt get a page to download the chat... I got a black page that said, done on the bottom of it.... maybe my modem is too slow tonight. I'll try again. It looks fun!

    I am d/l Jabber now... I wondered, where can we find a list of DD.Net folks who use Jabber, so that when I load it up, and log in, I can add them to my list.
