Cookies on the Counter

An hour spent in the garden worked wonders for it’s overall appearance. It looks like somebody cares for it. The old spent poppies are pulled up along with the short little daisies that lived so cheerfully along the fence. They all went to seed, so I am sure to have more in the spring. I cut down the holly hocks that were falling over and pulled up an old funky looking feverfew plant. There are new ones sprouting all over the place, so I am sure that main one won’t be missed before long. The tomatoes are growing and have set fruit. Although I would not say we are going to have a bumper crop this year. Not sure why. It is just so.

So much has been done today, I am content with the result.
The bills have been paid and the banking done. Several loads of laundry are in the works. I think we are on the last load. The molasses cookies are cooling on the racks right now, I cooked my edemame beans, and hard boiled eggs, made tuna salad and pineapple angelfood cupcakes.

We did our shopping too. We bought a paper shredder. A nice one for only 20 dollars with it’s own waste basket. I was especially worried about all the credit card applications we get. Mostly the ones with two or three checks attached that you can cash. What an odd thing for a company to do to get business. So now we can shred all the stuff with our credit card and banking numbers on them. And besides that, looks like the resulting cross cut paper will make halfway decent packing material for Daniel’s ebay items.

So all the things I wanted to do, got done. And I still have time to give Harry Potter an hour or two before supper time. I hope this peace of mind lasts far into the work week. The first of 4 more weeks to go before the summer job is supposed to end. (Unless my supervisor gets her wish and they keep me a little longer.)
I am curious to see how that will turn out.

Well, Harry is waiting again, so toodle-oo for now.

    A day well spent.

Is something wrong with me? I haven't read any of the Harry Potter books, and don't really care. Should I be worried?

    Shalom

Hmmmmm if the superviser DOES get her wish, is it also your wish? I see we are counting down the weeks till it all ends. *smile* I hope it all works out for you for the best and that you are content with what you are doing.

Doesn't it feel good to have the loose ends all taken care of? I love getting my garden in shape, it does my soul good.

Hope you have a great week! *smile*

Aha, you got your cookies, we call them biscuits. And good on you for tidying up the garden. Life sounds satisfying today. ;-)
