A Moment at the Little Desk
Mon Sep 08 2003

From the little desk in the cupboard, with only one butt cheek on the chair…….

I have left the door ajar so that I stay well aware that this retreat is a temporary one.

Have had a busy day. The house is reasonably clean, the laundry almost done, and shopping taken care of, with many thanks to my friend D. who came with me. We took a half day holiday. I found and bought a pair of medium blue yoga pants that were NOT on sale.
(Shocking!) They need hemming as usual, but I needed some new ones. I have a pair in the drawer that are not fit to wear in public anymore, not even in the gym.

I’m trying to think of the best way to use the remains of the day.
Read? Write? Cook? Sleep? Cooking sounds good.

I also took time today to get all my scribblings from stolen moments at work, entered into the computer. So I have rounded up all my ducklings and put them in order on a floppy disk. I had such a stack of crumpled sheets!

In our shopping, we went to a lamp store to look for a lamp for this little desk in here. But alas, I didn’t find a suitable one. There was one though that I liked a lot. It had a golden yellow and green globe shaped like a bulbous wild flower I have seen. The only thing was the base of the lamp was a rather ornate clock with figurines on it. I resisted the temptation to yank the globe part off that one and stick in on a more basic base. One with a price tag way less than 50 dollars!
(It’s so BORING to be civilized!)

Well off to cook dinner. I have no idea what to make. My mind is a blank.

(This is a chronic problem there cupcake, in case you hadn’t noticed.)

Yeah well, you don’t scare me, I have one butt cheek on the chair at the little desk in the cupboard and I have purple ink stained fingers.
My force field is recharging. Just wait till I close the door and sit on this chair properly. You just wait.

    Sorry about the lamp.

But it does sound like a productive day. I was out today, too, and I thought there was an uncommon amount of traffic for a Sunday. Hmmm. What were all those people doing on the road?

Oh, yeah, stopped at Trader Joe's for my kosher milk. You should SEE the crowds!!!! On Sunday, yet. Aren't people supposed to take it easy on weekends?????

    Shalom

The lamp sounded lovely. Oh, so you're a shortie, too. ;-)

You always know exactly what to say, as for my family you're probably right maybe my glaze needs to fire for longer. Amen to the haven of closets! It won't be much longer until you can barricade yourself in there if you feel like it.

    Love
