Ode To Joy.... Wait for it.....
Wed Oct 01 2003

I have no idea if the sound file I created will take so long to load that you will have time to go out for groceries while it's working away or not, but I HAD to give it a try. If you don't hear anything, please imagine Beethoven's
Ode to Joy playing in the background.

I am home! I made it!

The nice people at work had a little party, with cakes and apple turnovers and pastries and gave me a lovely basket filled with goodies like sugared pecans and brie and pistachios. They all signed farewell cards and generally made me feel like they really were going to miss me. Several people gave me a hug goodbye and my supervisor had tears in her eyes when she thanked me for helping her out this summer.

I have made at least one friend there that will be more than a work aquaintance. She will be coming to visit me next week as a matter of fact.

I am looking forward to tomorrow. My neighbor D. and I are going to the library! Something I haven't done once since I started working. Yipee!

Thanks for listening to me whine. And I whined a lot, I admit it.

Let me know about the music....

I'm not hearing any music. But I surely enjoyed the picture you included. Where is it?

So now you're "just a housewife" again. A happy housewife, I think. But it's good that you made friends, and what a lovely send-off they gave you. Makes you feel good, huh?

    Shalom

    Success!

I'm hearing it now. It took 5 minutes (or more) to load.

I waited and waited for the music, but that last one item just wouldn't finish downloading. Anyway, it seems those at your workplace loved you as much as we do. Congrats on some hard earned time off. ;-)

I'm glad that the work experience turned out to be somewhat positive in the end! I can't hear a thing but I am imagining the music and it is lovely. I should warn you some heavy duty (nice person) stalkage is about to occur as I can finally catch up on your diary, ahh how I've craved these words!

    Love
