I am happy to report that the "magic milk" worked exactly as expected. I went to bed at ten and didn't wake up till 5:30 when nature called, and had no problem sleeping another hour after that.
Now, the Salt Rising Bread is another matter. It has not turned into toxic waste, but I am not too optimistic that it will amount to much as I haven't gotten a rise out of it at all. As I write this, the loaf is rising in the warm oven. Although "resting" might be a better term. It may be destined for bird food. Some things just seem too good to be true. This recipe must be one of them. I followed the directions scrupulously, and resisted my usual "tweaking" for the first run through.
I headed out to the library today to feed Hub Man's addiction. Three Horatio Hornblower books now rest on the counter waiting to be devoured. I think he took a speed reading course when I wasn't looking!
I have started a cross stitch project. The first one in several years. It's going to be a gift for an mystery relative. I wonder if you can scan a piece of needlework? I have never tried that. When I finish it, I will give it a try.
The Pragmatist stopped by on her way back from the Doctor's office this afternoon. She is looking her regular self again and sounding much better. Although they are still filling her up with drugs, which is good. We want ALL the bugs dead!
She has inspected the garden and seen the new sweet peas and the daffodils. Which are taking center stage at the moment. Anyway, it was good to see her out and about again.
(Now if she can just get her email straightened out!)
