Do I LOOK Like I'm Jonesing?
Sun Apr 25 2004

From the Panic Room a few days ago. . .

I am composing this entry in Bloggar, as an ersatz fix for my jittery state at being cut off from Dear Diary today. I just tried again to see if I could get to my diary and found the dreded "Proxy Error" screen. I let out a pitiful little whimper and decided to come here to write about my abandonment issues. On a normal day, my computer calls to me playing a Creed segment when I have email and I stop what I am doing elsewhere in the house and come check up on everyone. But not a sound has emerged
from the speakers today, since the flood of spammers this morning who were trying to sell me everything from a new mortgage on my house, to mood altering drugs, - - -
"Your doctor say no? We say YES!" But none of these things provides me with what I really want.

I want answers to my questions. Questions like these:

When will I hear about Pragmatist's visit to Monstergue?
Is Warrior Princess in good humor today?
Will Antigone ever tell us what is going on in the new location?
Has Dustbunny3 cleaned out under the furniture?
What new crochet square has Yarngirl completed?
When will I see the results of Salamander's Peep experiments?
Did MagicWhiskey's little one sleep through the night yet?
What was the morning sky like today in Bookworm's Perth, Australia?
Will Allimom REALLY drop her math class?
Has Waterspriteflying created any more Coffee Pot People?
What is Sezrah's latest poem?
When will Rachel let me come live with her in a cottage in Scotland, where we will become eccentric, fabulously wealthy co-authors of Vampire/Fantasy/SF/Technophobic novels?
Will Fairywishes make a day trip to France again, just for fun?
Will there be a rare appearence from Parett now that the sun is shining so brightly?
How can I coax Aeolian Solo into writing every day so I can get my Solo fix?
Did CaraSusanetta manage to stay ON her horse today? ;-)
Will AQuietEvening once and for all overthrow the heinous Internal Revenue Service?
Will LifeOfLouise end up finding true love because of her German Shephard puppy?

And who knows, even at this very moment, BillyTeabags might be attempting to add an entry to Dear Diary AND I WON'T BE THERE TO READ IT!

So you see, I am distracted beyond belief, at being left in the dark about all these things.

Oh woe is me!
Alas and alack!
When will Dear Diary
Really come back?

    And...We're BACK!!! Woohoo!
Yes, I've so far stayed on my horse ;-)
No DD for 3 days has been a major bummer, tho. Even when I can't write, I do manage to read, and feel lost without my DD buddies now. I understand Jonesing!

It's almost like we all went on vacation at the same time, and none of us enjoyed it either.

i too share your anxiety about losing dear diary this site really helps the user to get in touch with their higher and lower self oh well the latter has a voice also and face it if it is not heard it will do all kinds of nasty things for attention ha ha
also i think if we weave after thoughts into our days it becomes so much richer
it is so hilarious when i couldnt access any diaries i noticed your post on the front page and you mentionned mints and if figured that you were talking some kind of computer jargon then i notice hear that you really and truly and literally are having mints
i enjoyed my visit and your sense of humour

    Hi!

I LOVED this entry today, captured perfectly just how I too feel about DD AND inspired my to go read all the diaries you read and 'poke my nose' into their lives...

When DD was down, I read your entry in the forum and chuckled as I had exactly the same feeling of panic, in fact I has to catch my breath and think 'oh what will I do if it doesn't come back, where will I find all my friends?'

p.s. no daytrips to la Francais this weekend!

I dropped that math class like a hot potato!

Of course, I'll be picking it up next term, but solo.

W.P. won't deign to tell me how she is today, so I'd guess that all is normal with Her Highness.

Lol, this was a great entry, thanks for the mention. In answer to your questions: ANZAC was the name given to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey early on the morning of 25 April 1915 during the First World War (1914 - 1918). For more see http://www.anzacday.org.au.

About the biscuits: Yep, sure have heard of them. I grew up with mum making them, terribly as she did then, and me making them as soon as I could stir a wooden spoon. My kids make them quite often, too. They originated during World War One because eggs were so scarce and sent to troops in food parcels at that time, too. Hope this helps. ;-)

My puter has been on the fritz lately, like not working at all. But I think some of the glitches have been taken care of, so watch this space. No, not this one, the Pragmatist one.

So there's an answer to one of your questions.

Just a hint: I had a wonderful time.

    Shalom

Hpw did I miss this one?! You had me ROFLMAO! and thinking, ''Oh, no. I have to know, too! I have to go visit all these diaries and find out!''

    You are too good.

    Hugs,
    Ani
PS Did someone tell me no one ever commented on old entries? hee hee
