Sugar Rush
Mon Jun 21 2004

Well, I went to Monster.com to look for a job.

I looked at a LOT of clerical jobs and then I typed in "writer".... just for fun.

This is what I found:

We are a rapidly expanding production company seeking both junior and senior Copywriters to work on new and existing projects which include:
Short Films
Mini-series
Documentaries
Commercials
Industrial Training Films

Qualified candidate must have strong writing skills and exhibit creativity while meeting tight deadlines.

Duties include meeting with the creative departments and ad agencies of existing clients to develop campaign goals, writing ad copy, and working with directors.

Senior Copywriters must have 3 to 5 years of copywriter experience in the above categories.

Junior copywriter must display a willingness to learn and take direction.

*I* can learn and take direction !! . . SO...

I emailed them my resume'. Now I feel kind of silly. But hey, you never know till you try.... ( I wonder if the psychiatric ward work experience in my resume' will catch their eye?)

Hub Man brought home a half dozen Krispy Kreme donuts last night. Now to make it APPEAR that we were actually eating breakfast, I made some scrambled eggs to go with the Krispy Kremes. . . And brought out the milk. After having a few bites of a chocolate one, I decided that when you eat a Krispy Kreme donut, it doesn't actually go into your stomach or anything like that. I don't think it ever makes it below your neck. I think it goes straight to the center of your brain and begins to agitate the sugar receptor lobe in an alarming way. This causes your right leg to begin to bounce uncontrollably. Shortly after this, you decide today is a good day to paint the house. Or clean out the garage, or, or, or weed the entire garden and harvest various and sundry vegetables.

I have just come in from the garden. I was weeding and cutting dead flowers and harvesting some garlic and all the rest of the potatoes. I dug about 15 pounds of them!

Guess what's for dinner?

Oven roasted potatoes with garlic and basil.

Carbs?

What carbs? I ain't afraid of no stinking carbs!!!

Potato anyone?

I found out that carbohydrates help elevate your mood.

Anyone who has ever eaten a large brownie with chocolate frosting and a side of ice cream can tell you THAT...

oh I sooo wish I had real potatoes in my garden, I do have garlic in a pot but I've never grown it before and it doesn't look ready yet. I love roast potatoes with garlic and olive oil and Maldon salt and calories, calories, calories...!

In the words of David Cassidy and your comments to my entry in mind, I think I love you. ;)

That's fantastic news about the copywriting gig I shall keep all my extremities crossed for you! I hope you have mentioned your reviewing capacity on your CV as an example of your creativity with a deadline in mind.

Sounds like Krispy Kremes should come with a warning label. Those puppies sound dangerous! :)

I LOVE 'taties! I keep thinking about growing them, but haven't done it yet. Maybe next year! If I do I'm torn between red 'taters and the purple ones. Whites and yellows taste good, but I want to grow something different. What kind do you have in your garden?

I've never tasted a Krispy Kremes and I can tell I don't want to. I know what I'd be like with them. It'll be interesting what they say about the copywriting job. ;-)

Oh, unfair! Here it is after 10 o'clock at night and you have this entry that makes my mouth water. Well, maybe I can just go to bed and Dream of Krispy Kremes and garlic potatoes. Not, probably, eaten together, but you know what I mean.

    Hugs,

One (regular) Krispy Kreme donut has 200 calories and is full of things only chemists can pronounce. Use extreme caution!!

I wanted Krispy Kreme donuts so bad this weekend, but never bought any. They are in every convenience store from here to Canada and looked sooooo good!
