Ta-Da!
What do you think?
I have driven myself half mad in here, tweaking and geeking, going back and forth a gazillion times from page to page until I am about to go whacko!
HTML language is incredibly snooty and persnickety. One little letter out of place and WHAM! Whatever it is you want to show up on your page is totally absent. Fix the ONE letter and SHAZAM! there it is, in it's proper place, smug as you please.
WHO MADE UP THIS SYSTEM?
Anyway, it's done and I'm done. Might have to wait for winter to set in before I change a thing. Take a look at the welcome page, just for fun. I figured out how to make a little logo with a publishing program. All will be well, as long as Hami Pics is up and running.
What is a little disconcerting about this process, is that the old diary configuration changes too. Now this may seem obvious, but when I think of my earliest entries, I see them as they looked then. Computers have no sense of history at all. I just re-wrote my archives in some respects. The past is malleable. Maybe this is why there is such an epidemic of re-writing history in the academic world these days.
In the history of THIS diary there were. . .
Pink roses? What pink roses? I don't know any thing about no stinking pink roses!
It's brown and tan in here. What's the matter with you?
Multi-colored pencils? What multi-colored pencils? I don't know anything about no multi-colored pencils!
And before that, in the mists of antiquity, IN THE BEGINNING, there were ..........
Pink rosebuds. (They are a weakness of mine)
In other news, I have greetings from the Pragmatist. She is having ISP difficulties now and is trying to get things squared away. But that project will be delayed for a while, as she is headed south to visit relatives for the week. She tells me that a limousine is coming to take her to the airport! (A gift from the family).
She hopes to be back in touch soon and says she feels isolated without her DD friends.
Well, I'm off to make put this project back on line.
To my American friends. Happy 4th of July!
Let Freedom Ring!
PS Ooops, almost forgot. Look what I found on the internet. I think I'm in love.
A painting by Lord Frederick Leighton called "The Painter's Honeymoon".

I just wanted to send a salute to all our military men and women all over the world. Thank you. There are not enough words to convey my gratitude. I know there are those who have conflicted feelings about war in general and this war in particular. But all I can say is that I rest safely in my bed at night, and part of the price for that rest is the sacrifice of people who are willing to put their lives on the line for the ideals of freedom. God Bless You, and bring you home soon.
