Bits And Pieces

I'm keeping a running journal today on Bloggar. Here's the first installment:

I'm going shopping.

I want to find a garland to decorate the living room that I can entwine some twinkle lights in. Every time I see those little lights used that way, I smile. They just make me smile. It's simple.

And I'm looking for some yarn to crochet a blanket for the couch.

So off to Beverly's and Joann's for me.

Back later.
* * * *

Came home empty handed. Didn't really find the garland I'm looking for. And the yarn selection was dismal in both places. I am going to have to check the yellow pages for a real yarn shop.

I've been cruising the web looking at different pictures of Ivan the Terrible. It's too bad hurricanes are so destructive. Otherwise we could give ourselves over to complete appreciation of their beauty. But as it is, one has to tsk tsk at the havoc that the thing is wrecking all over the place, because you don't want to seem like an insensitive whacko.

After lunch, nodding off over the keyboard here.

I forgot to mention I stopped at the Kosher butcher's and bought a shoulder roast.
Oh my, they are expensive. But it's Shabbat eve and it's for Shabbat dinner, and I have a hankering for oven roasted potatoes and onions. It requires a roast.

For now, a short nap is in order. Then into the oven goes the roast.

The house smells of roast beef and onions. Not a bad thing. Very homey in fact. All that is missing is a nice rainy evening to go with it.... but you can't have everything!

Hey. I found something on the Google ads on the ad banner on Dear Diary that I think you might like. It's called Journal Genie. And it basically psychoanalyses your journal entries. You can get a 5 day free trial. (It's pretty expensive to sign up for though)
But the neat thing is, during your 5 days you can copy and paste your already written entries all day long and get responses. It's kinda fun. Here's the link:

Journal Genie

If you try it, let me know what you think.

The Genie tells me many times I have some underlying anxiety going on....

Well DUH!

Sure hope you find some yarn you like for your throw. That roast sure sounds great to me. ;-)

A little late in the day, as Shabbat approacheth.

    But I'll give it try.

There's a yarn store on Fair Oaks Blvd before it becomes Manzanita. And there used to be one further up the street on Manzanita approximately across the street from where Albertson's is now. I don't know if it's still there. There's also another downtown that Joan Jurancich recommends.

Good luck finding the decor you want.

    Shabbat shalom

    hi mon amie
thanks for your comment that is that philosophica
l i was going to retype the word but hey doesnt that look hilarious now i have to get serious again well not for a bit hey what rocking colours in your entry words
yes the philosophy about the lack i love it thankyou for me this lack is the ego as being painfully seperated from the whole seeking oneness with the universe this has really qualified my definition
tiny lights on your wreath wow this reminds me i put some highly reflective stickers on my apartment door you know how apartment hallways are always so dreary well these stickers capture so many variations of light waves that they shimmer and when you get off the elevator and look down the dreary hallway you see what appears to be luminous rectangles hovering by my apartment door hm messages from the lunar cheshire cat maybe who knows it is a message from somewhere
shabat shalom mon amie when i return home i will celebrate thankyou for the reminder
    a la prochaine

    re: garland

I buy that thick shiny christmas tree garland, weave the mini lights into it and then put it around the doorways, windows, bathroom mirror and anywhere else I want to spiff up.
You can find garland made of plastic or paper.

    PS
I have the little mini lights strung on the patio awning year round hooked up to the motion security lights. They aren't as alarming when they come on and still throw off enough light to see.

Hey, I've tried that Genie-thing! It was fun indeed. I've put through all my entries (thanks god in my new diary there are not many of them yet) At first I was actually, quite surprised at the correctness of analysis. All appears to be quite what I'd expect, and the emotions picked up right. But then...opssss...total confusion: for when I wrote about how happy I was for my friend getting married, Genie said:"I am sensing you may be feeling like something you've said or done created a conflict..." hmmmmm...and then every next entry she's got confused more and more..lol...(must be after my Party Time - too much of drinks)
Anyway - it was a real fun, thanks for that link!
