30 Of 40
Fri Jul 22 2005

Two large bowls of tomatoes stare at me from the kitchen counter. They are hard to ignore, being rather a rare sight. I should be canning right now. But they have to wait their turn as myriad other chores are in line for today.

Someone asked how the 40 days experiment was going. Today is day 30. Ha! Bet you didn't think that much time had gone by did you? I would say that so far, some of the more personal habits I wanted to reinforce are doing pretty well. But as for the green tea and eating every three hours being so miraculously helpful for losing weight.... all I have to say is.....

EH.

I am not convinced that the tea has had any effect whatsoever. Though I intend to keep it up for the 40 days anyway. I found a rather nice green tea that I actually like. (The plain variety needs much doctoring in my opinion). But Celestial Seasonings Chamomile Green Tea is quite nice. And I shall be having a cup later in the day.

The scale reads the same. Which I suppose is a fairly good thing. Gaining would have been distressing. But never fear. Other things are on the horizon... I will write about it at a later date. Let's just say some ideas need to have time to marinate.

So here we have Rabbi Nachman of Breslov to round out the week:

" Never succumb to feelings of loneliness.
No matter where you are, God is close by."

Plain green tea is rather an aquired taste. I used to hate it, but over time have come to enjoy it. I have never been convinced that it would help with weight loss, but it is very calming and for that reason alone it is worth brewing. Did you ever find Perfectly Pear? Celestial Seasonings also has one called Imperial Peach that is nice and both are lovely as iced teas.

I'm glad you found a green tea you do enjoy. At least you're feeling good, am I right? All that tea drinking and snacking rather than eating large meals is supposed to be an ideal diet. ;-)

Btw, I do think bubby is getting close to cutting his first tooth. ;-)
