What's In YOUR Pocket?
Tue Aug 30 2005

As if on cue, the delta breeze arrived last night. It still blows fresh and cool this morning. I wonder if it was sent just for me?

I know I have mentioned this before, but it comes strongly to mind in light of today's winds. A Rabbi said once that we should carry around two pieces of paper in our pockets. One in the left, one in the right. On one slip it should say, "I am but dust and ashes." and on the other, "The whole universe was created for me." The trick is to know when to read which message.

Today I choose to read... "The whole universe was created for me."

Lol, love this idea. It's true, we need to have a balance in our lives, but it's difficult to strike the right amount at any given moment. ;-)

Maybe one of the pieces of paper should say
    Llama llama DUCK!

    Or my personal favorite ...
    Alarm a Llama!

King David must have carried those two slips of paper, although I don't know if he had pockets. But his Psalms clearly have that flavor.

I read one Psalm and David is bemoaning his fate, his enemies who pose as friends, and his unworthiness, his sinfulness.

Then the next Psalm is full of praise for blessings, Torah, and G'd, and whatever wisdom he has gained from Torah.

    I wonder.

    Shalom
