My Rosh Hashanah Wish
Fri Sep 30 2005

I am working through a list as long as my arm today. A whole bunch of little things. I went out early and did the shopping errands. I wanted it out of my hair. It was a good move. Now I feel like I can concentrate. It would be different if I was shopping with a friend. It changes the whole experience. But going alone is so incredibly isolating for some reason.

ANYWAY. Challah needs to be baked today. That's always a nice thing really.

Are we starting daylight savings this weekend? Anybody know?

I'm always confused about that whole deal.

Rosh Hashanah approaches quickly. The new year. What will it bring I wonder?

If I have a new year's wish it would look like this:

I want Moshiach NOW!

And I know I would be speaking for Rabbi Nachman too.

Moshiach

Drats. Sometimes I feel as though you are talking in another language...

I love the guitar and I hope to play well someday. Of course, I'd also like to learn the accordian...

Okay, so now I"m curious. How does Halloween fit in? I mean, I know that in general Jews don't celebrate holidays that aren't.. well, Jewish.

But in our country it seems that Halloween is treated so much like a non spiritual holiday. And from that perspective then would you be allowed to celebrate it?

I mean, I don't know a whole lot about all of these things, but I would think that if I invited a Jew over for a costume party and food on any random day of the year they would be able to come, right?

So, does that mean that they could trick or treat for instance? Or have "Harvest parties" or something?

    I"m so curious...

    Hopefully in an inoffensive way...

Isn't it great just to get those things crossed off your list? Thanks for the interesting link, too. ;-)
