Whew!  What a day.

I have been hither thither and yon.

Went to my dentist so he could fix my broken tooth problem. And fix it he did! He used some kind of resin like stuff that is the same color as my other teeth and filled in the broken part. It was the one just behind my eye tooth, so he didn’t want to use that metal stuff.

I told him that there are a lot of things about the modern world I am not all that fond of. But modern dentistry is NOT one of them!

He’s a genius. And I didn’t feel a thing. Though I talked funny for a few hours afterwards. Got to visit with Parett. She is well and sweet as usual.

Then I scooted over the mountain to go to the DMV to renew my driver’s license. I figure doing it in the boonie DMV would have it all over doing it in the city DMV.  Boy was I right. I only waited in line for about 10 minutes and was done before you could say Jack Robinson.

Only thing is they had to take a new picture of me. That was sad. For one thing I’m about 7 years younger in the old one, and for another it happened to be one of the best ever license photos I ever had. I’m going to miss it. I tried not to look goofy in the new one. But I won’t know for “2 to 3 weeks”. That was the official word on the arrival of my new license. You know there was a tense moment there when she took my old one and swiped in through her computer and I was hoping that there was no file on record that I needed to worry about. You know, all those speeding tickets I keep in the glove compartment?…..  JUST KIDDING!

Then I popped into Raley’s grocery store next door and lo and behold, there was an old school mate of mine! I haven’t seen her for years and years.  She is up visiting her parents for Christmas.  My goodness, she looked just like her old self. As a matter of fact, I recognized her from the BACK!

We had a nice chat.  Then I hauled back over the mountain and took a box of candy to an elderly former in-law of mine. We had a nice coze by the kitchen over a plate of homemade cookies.

I now await the arrival of the parental units from the airport. They should be touching down just about now. Only thing is they have a 2 hour drive to get home. Good news though, it stopped raining, and there is no snow to deal with.

It’s been an exceptionally good day.

 Exceptionally good.

It is always good to see you. I'm sorry that it means having to come to the dentist's office though...but Oh well!

You are the sweet one...but thanks for the compliment.

Enjoy your Holiday AND your visit.

    I love you...Parett

P.S. You have a very handsome father! An interesting one, also.

RYN: We didn't see it of course, but I doubt it was a big plane in the sense of commericial jetliners. We're a teeny little community and not on any regular flight paths. Or at least they're really high when they come over. I have seen smaller chartered or privately owned jets come through the area, and that is a definite possibility to what flew over. I'm telling you, I have never heard a plane fly that low, except for a couple times at the airport. It was not at all fun. I considered calling 911 or the police but what could they do except take my complaint? Unless there was a crash it wasn't an emergency and it isn't like they could chase him down.
