Cookie Day
Fri Jan 06 2006

The sun shines bright today, but it's not enough to dry out the soggy soil.

The back yard is still fairly sponge-like.

Today I took Sunny out to the pond in the middle of one of the fields and turned her loose. She ran big circles around me and stayed close enough to set my mind at ease that she won't head for points unknown. She smelled and tracked and ran to her heart's content, and by the time we made it back to "civilization" she was pretty well done in. She is stretched out on the floor behind me, conked out and smiling.

Hub Man is home from work today with a little head cold. I baked the next cookie in my cookbook. Banana Nut Drops. We are considering what rating we will give them. Odd, they seem to get better each time we try one.... Well, for sure the second one tasted better than the first one anyway. Good thing half of them got delivered down the street to my neighbors.

The laundry is almost finished and after I clean up the kitchen, I am headed for a stack of books I have been wanting to get to these last many weeks. Though it's kind of hard to sit and read when the sun is shining so nicely outside.

I wonder if Sunny has another walk in her ?

Sunny likely has as many walks in her as you're willing to undertake.

*whimpers* You HAVE to stop with the cookies! It hurts me to hear about them because I am a totally incompetant baker!

The only other alternative is to bake all the cookies in the book at one time and send me a care package. Yeah, that sounds like an idea *grins*

RYC: Then saddle up and we'll all go to The Village Garden. They have just about anything you'd want to eat from breakfast to dinner to dessert.

We'll meet you there in half an hour!

    Hugs

P.S. The prime rib is awesome!

RYC: I had to laugh because that's the CD in my car right now. When we pulled into the drive, that was the very song that was playing. It happens to be my favorite Creed song not to mention one of my top 10 all time favs. It tends to remind me that we have a very personal relationship with God, no matter how long it's been since the last chat.

    Hugs

RYN: It's almost two full hours of nearly non-stop despair, blood and guts. I spent a good deal of time feeling bad for Dakota Fanning because some of the stuff was so gory I didn't want to see it. Not exactly what I would expect from Spielberg. Yes, we did pay close attention because you couldn't NOT pay attention, but there was so much lacking in the script. The special effects were amazing. The characters did little more than run, hide and scream. Not much of a plot it seemed to me.

I never read the book so I don't know if it's true to the story or not. Perhaps that would make a difference, I'm not sure.
