The Oscars Of Irrelevance
Mon Mar 06 2006

I did not watch them.

But I was curious if The Chronicles Of Narnia had been nominated for anything, so I looked it up on line this morning. It won an award for makeup. The original score was not even nominated, which I find incomprehensible.

Which sort of leads me to my point of the day.

The Oscars are after all is said and done, "a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

Especially this year. I have seen virtually NONE of the movies mentioned.

I just read on the internet that the combined audience for ALL the nominated films for best picture does not even approach the number of people who went to see Chronicles of Narnia. And that Tony Curtis who is a member of the academy, said that his favorite pick of the year was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Of course the poor man could not vote for it, because it was not nominated.

Feh. A pox on all their houses.

Little Red has a few words to say.

"I knew an Oscar once.
The poor thing was a couple of eggs
short of a dozen.
(If you know what I mean.)"

I don't watch any of the "awards" shows. But as for the Oscars, I check out the pictures The Bee publishes, and I goggle at some of the outlandish garbs the women squeeze into. High fashion, indeed!

Ha, I didn't watch it either. Too boring and I can't stand the way they all go on about themselves. Lol. ;-)

We didn't watch either. I only know who won from headlines on FoxNews.com - and even then I didn't care enough to click on the articles. What difference does it really make? Absolutely NONE!
