Twinkle Twinkle Little Hen
Mon Apr 24 2006

My brother and I went for a walk with the dogs up in the woods a few days ago, and I found some familiar wildflowers. They are called Shooting Stars.

I apologize that they are out of focus. The camera chose the greenery behind the flowers to focus on. But this gives you sort of an idea what they look like.

"You know I hate
to make a fuss.
But I don't think
those purple things
are stars.
Stars twinkle.
And those things
are not twinkling.
But I will admit,
I have been accused
of being a bit of a literalist....
From time to time."

Well, I don't care what The Hen says, they have the right shape, even if they don't twinkle. And did she notice also they aren't the right color. Who cares? They're pretty.

    Shalom

The picture still turned out pretty good. I always wonder how they name plants and flowers. ;-)

Those are pretty and I can see how they got their name. We don't have those in our area, but we do have Trillium blooming right now and the wild Iris will bloom in about a month. I love wild flowers....they are so delicate.
