The heat has diminished. We all are breathing a sigh of relief.
I'm off this morning on an excursion with my neighbor D. to the nail salon. I'm going to get my tonails painted pink.
It's a big treat I don't often indulge in, but I decided to celebrate the fact that I am no longer employed outside my home as of today.
I wasn't making all that much money anyway, and the stress of being on call all the time was just over the top crazy making for me.
Ergo, I am rejoicing, or will be soon, using my pink tonails to guide my steps.
I can tell it is going to take some time for the residue of anxiety over the phone ringing to subside. I'm the skeptical type in many respects, and I need to "test" new emotional territory before I will put my full weight on it.
Out in the garden, things are simpler.
The melons and squash are setting fruit. Though to be honest, they are only the size of a pea right now. I have one winter squash and two kinds of melon. (I think) I had to re-plant one kind three times before it came up. I may have mixed up the seeds for all I know.
Things are changing around here...
for the better.
