I went out into the back yeard this morning to do a few little things I have been wanting to get to. Like clean out some planters and plant some seeds for a new crop of flowers. Clean out a funny little place by the outside air conditioner that I have in mind to turn into a small rock garden and eventually get a little water fountain to put there. And I do mean little because the space is only about 2 1/2 feet square or thereabouts. Oh, now I have to go measure it. I hate to mislead.... BRB

Okay, it's 3ft. square [so much for my talents at spacial estimations] and looks like this:

Neglected, obscure, nondescript spot eh?

At least now it's free of weeds and dead leaves and ant nests that were under some planters that I had there. I'm thinking of getting some stones or gravel or coarse sand? Something of that sort and then putting some interesting things in there. Plus the fountain. I will be on the lookout for something now that I know what I want to do.

I got to looking around in my yard, and there are at least four of these poor 'uninhabited' areas that need some attention. I want to inhabit them. It's more than just a gardening project. It's a philosophical step. I want to be 'present' in my garden. I think I have had enough of vague.

We won't even discuss the totally neglected narrow side yard at the south of the house. But by golly, sometime this season, I plan to claim that area as my own too.

Anyway, before I was finished with my projects, it had turned 10 am and I was dripping wet with good old fashioned sweat. It's 11:30 now and it is 100 degrees out there. I have had a nice bath, some clean clothes and don't plan to stick my head out till the sun goes down.

"Planting seeds
is always
a good thing.
I recommend it
highly.
Of course one
has to eat a few,
while you are at it.
But that's a good thing too!"
