Harvest
Tue Jul 25 2006

I ventured forth into the garden early this morning and noticed a slight difference in the oven like atmosphere. Perhaps it has modified to something more like a toaster oven like atmosphere.

But never matter, the heat is yielding fruit.

Now my dilemma is what to do with this combination of raw ingredients. There is nothing quite like being able to feed yourself from your own back yard.

Makes me feel akin to Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson for some reason today.

Here's my harvest:

Now I'm off to the kitchen.

RYC: hahahahaha.....either way it is no doubt very liberal and looking for a nice safe diplomatic solution to the heat problem. I'm sure that soon someone will appoint a task force to study the problem and then maybe there will be peace talks. If you are lucky they may even hammer out some sort of "sustained peace agreement" between the heat and the masses so the Delta Breeze won't have to actually get involved, but can take the credit.

Yes, I did get a lovely letter from a friend. It made me smile and remember how much I missed getting really real letters in the mail. :)

Eggplant!!!!! Ok, I've just never seen them quite that color or shape.

I do have a suggestion on what to do with them if you don't mind. Lightly par-boil them until they are a tad soft then pat them dry. Heat some light olive oil and sautee them with some of that lovely basil, garlic, and mushrooms if you have them then top them with the fresh tomatoes.

Oh, my. I think I just hit on what to have for dinner......

RYC: "Have you by any chance MET the Loony Left???"

Yes, though not the Ca. variety. As it is I live way too close to the NW conclave of Loony Leftism in Portland and that is scary enough thank you very much. Up here they always take credit for everything..... unless it goes wrong; then it is Bush's fault.

Oh boy isn't that the prettiest picture ever! And I do think salsa to see it, though I'm not sure how eggplant in salsa would do. :o)
