I am rejoicing in a surfeit of blessings these last many days spending time with far flung family and friends old and new.
Thanksgiving was an unqualified delight. Though it would have been a lot more stressful if we hadn't had this:

to guide us between places in the Portland area. It was a new form of shuttle diplomacy. Two parts of the family live about 30 minutes away from each other and of course we had to be in both places on and off the whole time. We didn't go anywhere without our pilot cars!
It was great to put the big squeeze on my peeps. It had been more than a tad too long that we were together.
We finally got to meet InStitches and her husband and spent a too brief morning and had lunch. If ever I wanted to be able to do the Vulcan Mind Meld it was that day. 'Let's just get all this personal history stuff out of the way so we can get down to saving the world together!' was in the back of my mind half the time.
But since I haven't perfected my green blooded skills yet, I am going to need some more one on one time with her and that's the end of it. Hey, what's 700 miles between friends? We will work that out one way or another. I must admit though, I think InStitches is farther along in her Mind Meld studies than me because she discovered the true identitiy of The Little Red Hen within 15 minutes of our meeting. A factoid that even I didn't know until she enlightened me.
"You have much to learn Grasshopper." .... That would be me.
I spent the day yesterday with Mamallama pawing through her truly amazing and mouth watering array of scrapbook paraphernalia. We exchanged paper box making techniques and worked up a couple of them and then laid out some photos to create a couple of scrapbook pages for today. She also gave me an embarrassingly large pile of goodies from her stash. I feel rich!
I'm going back over today and I can't wait, because she is also having her new living room furniture delivered. I'm getting in on all the fun.
We took Tootsie and Sunny for a long walk in the woods all the way up to the creek and brought home two stepping stones for my newly reclaimed side yard. We have discovered a shared love of dragging home rocks. Those two dogs wore themselves out charging through the woods and fields. If we walked a mile, they ran four at least. And the best part was that it was snowing lightly all day long. Something I haven't been able to see for a long long time. I just loved it.
So off I go into the day, I hope there is another walk in store, and I need to connect with another friend for some serious catch up time. I'm promised a trip to a local spinner and knitter who hales from England. I hope she won't give me any flack for knitting with the Continental technique instead of the English one! I wonder if she has a hank of handspun she would be willing to sell to me. With all the blessings in the air, it seems possible today.....
