Put Your Shopping Shoes On
Wed Dec 27 2006

As you can see, I am experimenting with a new look. Eh, I don't really care for it, and feel the urge coming on to completely re-decorate, but haven't found the time required to do it right, so here we are looking a little 'jakey' as my mom puts it.

I am taking care of a friend's cats for two weeks until January 5. This entails driving 30 miles round trip, twice a day. (One cat needs medication). I have been paid handsomely for this service, and am taking it very seriously indeed! The kitties are two long haired Siamese. Brother and sister I believe. Romeo and Juliet. We are getting along famously.

The good news about this is that near their house is the most wonderful shopping center that has almost ALL my favorite stores in it. Michael's, Ross, Borders, Pet Smart, and a Marshall's that I have never been to.
So today, I'm spending the day with the cats. It will be my home base. I get my hair cut in that same town, and today is my appointment, then I will go shopping and then come back and hang with the cats until dinner time. So I will only have to drive up and back once.

I have a list as long as my arm of little bits to get and I hear that the calendars at Borders are half price this week. I LOVE nice calendars.... I can hardly wait!

It will be especially nice to visit so many favorite stores and not have to drive around either. That driving around uses up too much retail energy!

Well, off I go. Hope the shopping fairy smiles on me today.

Wish we could all go together.
Wouldn't that be a hoot.

It would be a DD shopping blitzkrieg!

I have to wish you Happy Shopping! Even with all the sales, all I can do right now is window shop. So many things to buy, so little money to buy with. *sigh*

I hope the kitties appreciate you. Driving 30 miles a day round trip, twice a day, certainly deserves an appreciative purr.

    Shalom

RYC: I have a whole seperate ritual for shopping. I take anti-bacterial wipes with me to the store and wipe the handles of the carts. That allows me to touch them, dontchyaknow.

In public restrooms I WON'T touch the door handle if there aren't towels present. I HATE hand dryers for that reason. If I cannot open the door with a paper towel I am forced to do one of two things: wait until someone else opens the door and slip through or use the tail of my shirt to open the knob. I can wash my shirt without really having to watch out for germs but touching it with my hands is just ummmm gross.

    Yeah, I am seriously weird

    Yeah,

RYC: Oh thank you. I was not quite sure what to do with ( ). My ** does NOT need lessons that's for sure.

By the way, turn about is fair play and you are quite welcome to describe 6 weird things about me if you so choose. :)

Good to know about calendars at Borders. This is the first year I didn't get one for Christmas. I may need to go pick one out for myself!

your day sounds great, I love it when you have a long list and you haven't been to the stores for a while so you can just amble and spend, amble and spend

Ooh.. well, obviously I would have been late for the shopping trip but it most definitely would have been a blast. Plus, I could use some calendars too, I still don't have one that I like. That means I have some but not what I would have picked if I had a good selection to choose from.
