Look what I got yesterday!

Hub Man and I went to the bike shop in the afternoon. I rode one bike, a Schwinn girl's bike that was nice... but... then I rode THIS one and was just amazed at the difference.

If you look at where the pedals are attached on the bike, you will notice they are moved forward of the angle of the seat quite a bit. This results in a minor 'recumbant' effect when pedalling. Much less stress on the knees, easier on the lower back and I sit up real straight with those tall handlebars. It's just dreamy!

Hub Man rode his motorcycle with me and I took Sunny on a leash for a run with the bike. She was so happy to be moving fast instead of my usual walking pace.
I found out that she is a terrific pacer. She can go VERY fast without breaking into a gallop. We should hook her up to a cart and take her to the race track. Wow.

Anyway, I'm already planning a few exploratory bike runs in my neighborhood. There is a small lake nearby that is now within reach by wheel. This also gets us off the hook for dog runs in the fields for a while. The ticks are real bad right now. Every time we take Sunny out there, we ALL come home with ticks. I even tried spraying us with repellant beforehand, and it did no good.

So for now, until the ticks settle down, we are good to go for excerise. Not to mention fun!

Wheeeeeee!!!!

I'm so jealous! It's so pretty and I've wanted a bike for such a long time. Rick has no sense of balance whatsoever since radiation so a bike is out of the question for him, making it too solitary of an activity for me to enjoy for very long. No bike. Can I enjoy a bike by proxy through you?

A couple of days ago I was crossing Bruceville & Laguna in E.G. and saw a woman on a bike just like yours riding with a male companion. Was that you?

    Nope. Not me.
We are a long ways away from that area...

Besides, Hub Man was on a motorcylce for our toodle around the neighborhood.

    Hi Deborah,

Thankyou for leaving a comment on my blog. I love my new bike but have been grounded since yesterday with a puncture....what a pain, especially when your husband has to come and rescue you because you are so far from home. I love recreational cycling and our family has done two cycling holidays with my sister and her family. These have been the best holidays we have ever had, you seem to see so much more and the kids love all the activity. I am actually knitting this morning on my red cabled bag, up to the shoulder strap then some knitted on I cord and it will be in the wash. Will blog about it in the next few days I expect.
