    Host also means the solid portion of Christian communion, typically communion wafers, crackers or cubes of bread.

    I agree, though. English must be learned as a first language, or at least before a child is twelve, or so, otherwise it's just too difficult and older learners rarely become fluent. Not that plenty of native English speakers don't know which homonym to use in written English.

    When I was in second grade, in one corner of the room there was a big tree. It was our pear-pair-pare tree. The yellow construction paper pears on the tree had all the homonyms that any second grader could think of. That was fun and taught us about homonymns in a visual way that stuck with me.

    I thought your new wallpaper was of soft golden peaches at first look ..but then saw horses ....of course the peaches would have been apt for you too ..lol .
