Maybe it's the time of year.
Maybe it's the weather.
Maybe it's something else I cannot possibly define, but I am spending way too much time on the computer these days.
A huge part of the problem is Ravelry. There are forums on there in the hundreds. I can post to so many threads it is just plain scary. And once you post some comment about some knitting conundrum or other, you of course HAVE to go back every 20 minutes to see if anyone else has posted to that thread. It doesn't help that some of the threads are hilarious. Like one that is going right now about who to cast in an imaginary movie entitled: Wool- The Movie. People are suggesting actors and parts and plot lines.
It's a total hoot. But it doesn't get the knitting done, or the dishes, or the laundry, or a bunch of other things I want to do either...
So after I post this to my diary, I am turning my computer off for the day. I might check in this evening, but I need a break. It's kind of sad to think that I don't have enough self control to just walk by the thing on the way to my next project. It doesn't help of course that I have my computer set up to play various music and other sounds when I get email, someone sends me an instant message, or someone signs into messenger, or yahoo, or, or, or! It's like a Siren's song all day long.
Yoooohoooo! You have eeeeemaaaail!
Yoooohoooo! Someone's on Yahoooooo.
Yoooohoooo! You have an IiiiiiMmmmm!
So in the interest of a little balance and sanity, I am going to abstain from computer input today. I'm not making any promises about tomorrow. But today.... I'm going low tech.
(I give her till noon, and she'll be back on here like a junk food junky on Twinkies.)
We'll see about that.
