Post-it notes dot my project board. Little things that need done. Half hour projects. Easy peasy. And yet they languish. Why I wonder?
Attention Deficit Disorder.
That's what I'm putting down.
I never used to think I had this condition. But I'm beginning to wonder.
I was talking to someone the other day... [I cannot remember who it was. This may be a problem right there.] Anyway we decided that modern life is so weird and disorienting that it would not surprise me if people just started to 'pop'.
Like balloons with too much air in them.
And listen, I don't have a hectic or busy life really. My workplace is my home. But I still feel the pressure rising. And its not really physical so much as psychological. I have been keeping the TV off completely in the daytime. I used to watch the British cleaning ladies at noon, but I gave it up. I used to watch Dr. Phil or Oprah, but no more. It's like I have reached my limit for the commercials. They are driving me crazy.
In the evening we have taken to watching the History channel and the Classic movie channel and maybe the Food one if Alton Brown is on. I admit to liking House, Heros and Lost. But they are hardly ever on. And I'm getting cranky about it. They are about to lose me if they don't get on the stick and put something on the air. Sounds funny to say I don't want to watch TV and then complain that my shows aren't on. But that's the way it is with the tube, you hate it and kinda like it at the same time.
RATS.
Can we spell a-m-b-i-g-u-i-t-y?
(You just did dingbat.)
You can add him to my stack of grievances.
But as a little note of reality... We bought a DVD the other day of 30 Jack Benny shows from way back when. His sponser was Lucky Strike cigarettes.
Oh my gosh, they OWNED that show. They even did songs in the skits that had references to Lucky Strikes. One of the skits had a hula dancer with a necklace of cigarettes. It was so bizarre.
My point is, TV has always been weird. It's just that it's getting weirder than I can handle.
