Short report.

We have arrived in the Portland area.

Oregon is a beautiful place. It gets prettier and prettier the farther north you go. They grow big trees here.
Must be something in the soil.

Who knows when my next chance at connectivity will come along...

But for the nonce, we are safe and sound and surrounded by more technology than you can shake a stick at. My son and his wife are, compared to me, on THE cutting edge of what's new in the geek world.

I'm swimming in ones and zeros.

Headed off to Montana tomorrow. That seems like a long way from here. 582 miles to be exact.

Talk to you as soon as I get the wi-fi for it!

    Dear Red Hen,

What a marvelous thing it is to go on vacation. Were it not for your inspiration I might never have known.

We arrived in Newport mid-afternoon today. It is all together possible we passed on I-5 somewhere between Portland and the Corvalis exit. Had I known you were traveling north as I was headed south I would have waved as we passed. :)

Thanks to my own high tech brood I too have internet access while on a vacation. Darling daughter e-mailed me all the way from Bulgaria this morning to give me all the pariculars on how to use her cool stuff including the smallest mouse I have ever set eyes on. It is just too cute for words though a little hard to work with when you are all feathers. Still it is nice to be able to keep in touch while on the road.

I hope you have as much fun as I am having. Say hi to all your chicks from me.

    Quilty, the other vacationing hen

Didn't know you were going in that direction, or I would have given you Megan's phone number. I'll be there in 9 days. :)

    Bless

    hi yetzirah!

be safe and have fun :)

one of my holiday definitions is that it gives me a break from all things digital, nothing like being out in the middle of nowhere in the bush and back to basics, it really cleans the soul
