Ballot Box Blues
Thu Oct 02 2008

I feel like I'm immersed in a simmering cauldron of politics.

Slogans and campaign promises permeate the air.

My very skin oozes with partisan posturing.

I cannot wash off the stench.

There is only one remedy....

Oh November!
Where is thy ballot box?
I am ready to plight my troth.

Perchance afterward these politicos will crawl back into their caves and leave me in peace for a few weeks.... until the next Presidential race begins. For I am sure that the wheels will turn and the schemers will reorganize themselves and some damn fool will declare they are running for the 2012 election by Christmas.

We just might be left in peace long enough to have a happy Thanksgiving.

(My my, aren't we the harbinger of sweetness and light today? What? Can't take it any more? Try getting puncutation reform on the ballot sometime. Then you'll know what frustration REALLY is...)

I'm full up too. I don't particularly like either presidential candidate, but the ballots don't have "None of the Above" category. Betcha None would win in a landslide.

    Bless

I was sick of it before it even began!
I knew what was coming from past experience and I was not the least bit hopeful.
    Not one bit.
    Yuck. Poo. Ick.

I'm with you. I miss seeing green....... as in the grass that I think might still be growing somewhere under all those yard signs.

Well first we finish the debates then another scandal pops up. Then the election is held with the possibility of recounts and lawyers and courts. Then we have a President Elect and he has to put together a cabinet for his new administration. Then the inauguration planning and Inaguration day on January 20th 2009. All of this will be center stage in the media so you can pretty much not count on any of this subsiding or going away until after January 20th 2009. Of course the media always stalks the new President for the first 100 days of his administration has is tradition. Have a grand evening. Political Hugs, Richard lol.
