Fiona 2 - Snakes - 0
Fri Oct 23 2009

Ah, it's a lovely October day. Still. Clear. Sweater weather.

Ran out to do my overdue errands and for once found everything on my list. When I got home Fiona was entertaining a friend. I got a paper bag and scooped him up. He didn't move a muscle. I felt sorry for him until I got outside and he uncurled and stuck his tounge out at me. Cheeky fellow. I turned him loose in the flower bed. No, that is not blood on Fiona's claw. I took somone's advice and painted her replacement claw cap rose pink with nail polish. She needed three new ones yesterday.

I can just hear me brudder now.... "My sister has too much time on her hands." I would argue that I have too many animals on my hands, but that's a story for another day...

(I caught her looking at Zebra Finches at Pet Smart the other day. I kicked her firmly on the shin and we got out of there before something stupid took place.)

I hate to think where you might find that snake if Fiona hadn't been standing guard.

A garter snake! How cool (even if it is in the house). I'm glad he survived - he should help keep the garden pests at bay!

I'm ashamed to say that after 1,109 pictures I still never noticed that!
