Rare As Hen's Teeth

We have SNOW!

Seriously.

Snow!

Hub Man gets up at 4:30 to go to work.

This is what was happening in the back yard when I let the dogs out:

I was so excited! Such a rare and unusual thing for us. Here it is in the daytime:

Also, we have a new addition to the pack for the time being.

His name is Snoopy, though we like to call him 'Rusty' instead. It seems to fit him better.

His owner died and the niece brought him to us this weekend. He LOVES Fiona and wants to lick her all over which she is totally not into, so we are adjusting. No matter how much she abuses him, he won't give up. If she hisses or growls at him, he sits down, wagging his tail in a polite way. Though he is a bit fiesty and seems to have been teased somewhat as he will snarl and snap if you touch his head or mouth while telling him he needs to being doing something other than what he is doing at the moment. We will have to work on that. But mostly he has fit in quite nicely. He is still all boy though and will need to have that taken care of. Perhaps that will help calm him down. He is a bit on the, ahem... randy side if you take my meaning.

Anyway, we are all cozed up by the fire today waiting to see if any more snow might come our way.

It is the perfect day to finish up a particularly vexing and challenging bit of knitting I have been doing. I won't be sharing it for a while because it is a gift. But once it arrives at its destination, there WILL be pictures.

Okay, I think the Hen has a few words... I hear squawking in the other room...

Teeth?

What teeth?

I don't need no stinking teeth!

 PS

Another dog?

Buck!

It's tracking in snow on the rug.

SNOW?

SNOW?

What the buck is up with THAT?

I'm outta here.

If you need me, I'll be in the hen house.

On second thought,

never mind.

I'm taking the day off.

Hmmf.

And get that dog off the cat. It's embarrassing.

(Does it seem very crowded in here today? Or is it just me?)

Maybe a better name would be Mufasa. Looks like a proud lion! Beautiful boy!!
I think you could scrape together a very tiny snowman. Really. You should try.
We have about that much snow, too.

    SNOW?!!! I'm moving to Hawaii.

Snoopy is a handsome dog. He obviously has been well cared for. Rusty does seem a more fitting name. Is it the breed that they so easily adjust to a new family? You've been remarkably lucky with your fosterlings.

I had to laugh when I read about Fiona's canine bath! Yeah, I'll bet she has other ideas.

    Bless

That is rare...... when I was a little girl we lived in Sunol for about 7 years and I only remember it snowing once. The whole neighborhood turned out to ooh and ahh and play. It was grand.

By the way, which tree is all bundled up in the corner; peach or orange?

Thanks for posting snow pictures, I heard the news but was unable to find any online pictures of the recent snowfall. Amazing.

The snow was fun and exciting! A first for us since moving to this area. :-)

Rusty seems like a nice boy. I love that he loves Fiona!
