A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood
Mon Dec 28 2009

It's a flat gray day here, no rain... yet. It's expected any minute though.

We are having a little problem with our back yard fence. It's getting pretty old and brittle. The next door neighbors have a dog too and between our three and 'mr. rogers', they manage to break a board about once a week and he comes over to play. Oh joy.

When I came home from feeding the cats who are about 12 miles away, the neighborly dog was in our back yard again. . . He's a nice enough dog and all, but I don't need FOUR dogs in the yard right now. Snoopy got put in his crate indoors while I was gone because he thinks he's the meanest dog on the block and does his fair share of damage to the fence. I thought I had lessened the chances for mayhem by taking him out of the picture.

Yeah, right.

I'm afraid it is time to replace that whole section of boards. Sigh.  I'm also thinking about getting another dog pen and just keeping the dogs away from that side fence altogether. There are times that I am reminded that we are not really set up properly for rowdy dogs. Well mannered ones do fine, but add the wild card of a fiesty foster dog, and we end up with spinters and uninvited guests.

Ah well. It's only wood.

Oh my goodness. Yes, it is definitely time to replace the fence somehow.
