The other day, I bought some lentils when we went to Whole Foods to shop. I forget the name of them, but they are smaller and a different color than I have seen before. I got curious to see if they would sprout. I added a few of my regular lentils and put them in a damp paper towel in a plastic bag. I have never grown lentils and am now wondering why.

......and, I suspect, a good deal of patience when it comes time to harvest as there are only 2 seeds per pod. On the other hand, it could be a calming task on a hot summer day and certainly an excuse to sit down. :) - From:BattleAxe (Unauthenticated) (Legacy)On:Fri Jan 08 2010I heard somewhere that if you sprout them before cooking you won't get gas when you eat them.
