My neighbor D. invited me to go shopping with her to a Home Goods store. I had never been to one. It was an amazing place, full of unusual items. I found something there that I sort of 'had' to have. I'm not much of an impulse buyer, but this thing just told me to take it home. It was ridiculously inexpensive, which made it pretty easy to do. The only thing is, now that I have it here, I'm not at all sure what to do with it...
It's pretty big. So far I have had it sitting on the floor next to one of the couches. But I am beginning to think it may have an outdoor destiny. What do you think?

- From:404Error (Legacy)On:Fri Jan 15 2010It's a very interesting bauble, that's for sure. I can easily see it as a vase for pampas grass or cat tails. Oh, or maybe peacock feathers would look nice. As for the indoor/outdoor question, I think only you can answer that one. But if you choose outdoor, I'd wait until the rains stop. That jug, full of water, might weigh a ton.
- From:InStitches (Legacy)On:Fri Jan 15 2010I'd be afraid of it getting broken outside, but it would look lovely on your patio filled with whatever seasonal offerings were handy; forsythia branches come to mind.
Or if you have a bare corner indoors that needs some pizzaz do the same thing; there are abundant choices in silks or use the real deal.
Hmmmmm....... that got you no closer to a decision did it?
Well whatever you decide, be bold....... bold is good and requires courage. ;) - From:Welshamethyst (Legacy)On:Fri Jan 15 2010I agree with the first two ladies. It would look wonderful with pampas, willow, or forsythia. Wish I lived in your neck of the woods because I'd have to have one for my deck!
- From:Mamallama (Legacy)On:Fri Jan 15 2010Oooo. Pretty. A new precious, maybe.
- From:Mamallama (Legacy)On:Fri Jan 15 2010OH! I vote outside. Plate on top w/birdseed or water.
Put water inside either way. I can see the sun coming through it.
Amber lights dancing around the patio.
Cooooooool. - From:Blueheron (Legacy)On:Sat Jan 16 2010I like Mamallama's idea of a feeder, I'd put small river stones in the jar along with the water. Would look lovely.
- From:Diane (Unauthenticated) (Legacy)On:Sun Jan 17 2010D here. I just love the shape and color of it too. Laughing you can not decide where it's new home should be but certainly understand. .However, what fun it is deciding exactly what to do with it and where to place it. The bird feeder is a nice idea. Or just filled with the lovely stones or plastic jewels sold at craft stores and some water for the sunlight to play with. I can just see the sun dancing about. Perhaps sitting on a table on your patio. Or just on the patio. Thought there, will it be safe with the dogs running around the patio and yard? hmmmmmm Perhaps tucked into an area where plants are protecting it some, yet the sun can still shine through it. Or fill it as mentioned but placed indoors in front of a window that the sun comes through? Can't wait to hear/see what you decide to do with it.
- From:BattleAxe (Unauthenticated) (Legacy)On:Mon Jan 18 2010I think it should go indoors displayed with the gourds. It will provide an interesting contrast.
- From:Salamander (Legacy)On:Tue Jan 26 2010Home Goods is an addiction I cannot afford. I'llhave to post a picture of my tall, clear vase with the painted trees and birds on it.
