I have a bit of climate change whiplash going on right now.

REAL climate change. Not the fake kind we have been hearing about, lo these many years....

When I left home, it was about 65 degrees and balmy enough to open up the house for fresh air. Here it is a different story. The colder temperatures are fine by me. I get to see snow! Lots and lots of snow. I'll have some more pictures later on, but for now, here is what was on the back deck this morning.

[album 65561 Cardinal.JPG]

I love me those Cardinals, I really do. Almost every bird that lands on the back porch is of a vastly different variety than what we see every day, so they all seem exotic to me.

Dad progresses well, and is burnin' up the rug with his wheely walker, hand brakes and all. It's a nice black cherry color. Quite snazzy.

Took a walk this morning. Froze my face off. Forgot to take a scarf. I will not forget again. Trust me.

I'm afraid a walk in the woods will not be in the cards unless we get a major thaw. The stuff is almost two feet deep. It's NICE stuff though. Very beautiful.

Enjoy the exotic wildlife and weather and then get down on your knees and kiss the ground when you get back to your native territory!

I'd kill for 65. We're hovering around 25 today *sigh*

I wish we had cardinals up here, they are such cheerful birds. I'll have to make do with the Stellars Jays and the occasional waxwing I get a rare glimpse of.

You make me ashamed of myself. Cardinals, bluejays, chickadees, titmice ... these are daily birds for me, and I hardly notice them any more. Time to start paying attention again.
